Post-harvest Transactions
- We are keen about the post-harvest operations as we believe that the fruit is produced in the best form and conditions upon harvesting so, we have to stop any changes and progresses might affect the quality of eatability.
- The first step of quality assurance after maturity of the fruits on the plant is harvesting. Using the suitable tools such as scissors and field harvesting containers and methods of harvesting according to the requirements of the crop such as field packing.
- Cooled trucks transports the product to the packing stations.
- Reducing the field heat is the first target of the post-harvest operations to save the cooling chain. The transit cold rooms (20-25 Cº) are the first accommodation receiving the commodities upon arrival to the packing station.
- Then the commodities to be sorted and graded on suitable lines by well-trained teams under the quality assurance staff monitoring and evaluation.
- Palletizing and labeling under the supervision of the quality assurance team applying the traceability requirements provides the ability to identify and problem might happen or discovered later. Evaporated wood used for pallets manufacturing.
- Forced air cooling being done in humidified forced air cooling rooms.
- Cold storage in the specified stored temperature tell the transportation begins.
- The containers being tested to reach the suitable temp. and cleaned.
- The shipping in the containers under the standard specified conditions (temp.- Humidity – Ventilation).
- Using the data loggers, we can assure the correct application of temperature upon travelling or we can go against the shipping agent in case we any mistakes.
- In some circumstances, we have to use the HA, the MA and/or Ethylene absorber to avoid any over ripening specially is some special fruits such as strawberries during the long travelling destinations.
